About Me

My name is Shane Behen

I have been a welder/fabricator for well over a decade, and in the spring of 2023, decided to change careers into the world of Software Development. Being an 80’s baby I have always been intrigued by the intricate ways of how computers operate, but had chosen the Blue Collar path like the rest of the men in my family.

My current goals for this career change are to develop applications geared towards ease of life, and helping others. Me and my wife are very active in charitable work with our local homeless community, and one of my first MVP’s is a tracking system that live updates users of the availability for shelter beds, food box drives, medical care, mobile showers, and mental health clinincs.

One of the biggest hurdles the homeless community faces is the lack of care for people who are dual diagnosed. This means that, not only are they currently addicted to drugs and alcohol, but suffer from some sort of mental disorder IE. Bipolar, Schizophrenia, etc. Most drug and alcohol treament centers won’t accept these types of patients.

I am of the firm belief that in order to fix the root cause of someones mental health, they must first be as clear as possible from mind altering chemicals and substances, it’s a process. One day I will find a way to cut through the red tape of government, to actually get these people the help that they need.
